Getting picc Today

Yesterday May 3rd was pretty low key, the first day since we've been here that we started to get bored.  Ty played with his gak.  Still no improvements really on his counts WBC 1.2 little higher, RBC 4.03 in the normal range, HCT 34.2 in the normal range, PLTS 35 lower, ANC 0.  I had to get those counts from his night nurse cause our day nurse was floated here from a different unit and didn't even know what I was talking about when I asked for a printout of his labs.  dur
Ty got a giant stash of pokie presents from a friend who was down to get some info for her own kids who have medical challenges.  Thank You so much!  It was fun to visit with another mommy who 'gets it'.
His lip looks like crap doesn't it?  I guess that's just how it heals...hopefully.  So today Ty is getting a picc line insterted in his arm so that we can go home.  They are saying we can probably go home Saturday if everything still looks good.  It makes me nervous to go home with an ANC of zero, I won't be surprised if we end up back in the hospital before his counts recover but he is going home on meds and we'll see how it goes.
Please no child visitors when we get home, and of course please don't visit if you are sick or have been around anyone who is sick.  And use hand sanitizer!
May 4 counts: WBC 1.1 down a little, RBC 4.11 still normal, HCT 35 still normal, PLTS 29 down some more, ANC 0.  Wondering when those stinking neupogen shots are going to kick in!
Thank you so much for the visits, prizes, and food!  I haven't ventured down to the cafeteria once while we've been here because someone has brought me food every day!  It is amazing how many visitors and love and help we have had even though we are almost 3 hours from home.  Thank You!!!
Getting platelets today so they can put the picc in.  And it looks like he will just be going home on zosyn and voriconazole.  Don't know yet if they will continue neupogen shots...his home health nurse probably won't like that cause I'm certainly not giving him shots.  Hoping they don't.
